Paraworld @ GC 2005 Aftermath: News, Photos + Movies!
The Games Convention 2005 - quite a ride for those who got to attend the show. No less than 134,000 visitors were counted this year, easily topping the previous record. Word on the street is they all came only to check out Paraworld. "Word on the street" being the voices in my head, but I tend to trust them. Occasionally.
The first hands-on impressions have arrived and "positive" would be quite an understatement to describe the general take on our little baby. If you don't speak German, Japanese or Polish you'll have to use Babelfish or the Google language tools though to read the feedback published so far. The guys over at GamePorts.net think that Paraworld is likely to become a top title, the T-Online gaming portal considers our little darling to be one of the highlights of the show. The full article is also available over at Nachrichten.at. Gry-Online, one of the big gaming-related websites in Poland, posted their impressions as well. The guys over at 3DGamers posted a GC round-up feature, also elaborating on Deep Silver's line-up:
The fights between different tribes were truely marvelous. Who hasn't wanted to find out whether his allosaurus is stronger than a T-Rex? The dinosaurs each have their special attack: allosaurus would simply stomp the group to throw all enemies around him into disarray, T-Rex would just swallow enemy humans whole.
Just in time for the GC 2005, a new batch of obviously droolerific screenshots was posted over the official Paraworld website. Also, Sunflowers launched their Paraworld forum, which, of course, secretly aspires to be as super awesome and cuddly as the one we have right here at our website.
Now in case you didn't make it to Leipzig, but would like to get a taste of what the GC visitors got to see - help is on the way! The editors of the Japanese website 4Gamer.net posted an article about Paraworld's show presence and also decided to tape a few bits while Thomas was demonstrating the game. If you carefully check the main text on this page, you should be able to spot two links to the videos they made and some screenshots below.
The SEK also happened to infiltra- er attend the show this year. And, of course, we don't mind sharing some of our impressions, thus providing a few photos the crew took. Here we go:
An enormous bottle of beer. Of course, we only had ordered it just so we could take a photo of it. (Just ignore the mugs in the background please.)
That's the pal we'll be sending to whereever you live if you do not buy Paraworld.
If it wasn't for the evolution-related circumstances, this could have been the pal we'd be sending to whereever you live if you do not buy Paraworld.
A snapshot of the usual GC Saturday Frenzy (TM).
A snapshot of a stunned crowd. Not present on the photo because he was hiding behind the post to the left: Thomas
Thomas presenting the game. I'm running out of really witty captions here, just pretend I said something funny.
Here's a picture of a soldier kneeling next to a smouldering car. (In fact, I have no idea what the heck is going on here.)
There are all kinds of ways to protect yourself against radiation emitted by cell phones, but this has to be a new one.
Jasmin, probably pimping Paraworld on Microsoft's stage.
Paraworld getting people really excited - yes, yes, we should be used to that by now.
